Invicta handcrafted its
first watch in 1837. Coming from the Latin word, Invicta means
Invincible. The company was founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds by Raphael
Picard who had the belief that fine Swiss timepieces should be sold at
reasonable prices.
The Invicta Company
couldn't resist
the quartz fashion wave that hit the traditional watch manufacturers in
the 70's and the brand simply disappeared. Fortunately, some family
members of the founder Picard made Invicta reborn from its ashes in the
beginning of the 90's. Its always surprising to see quartz Invicta
watches for sale. It seems that the company has forgiven the world's
past "faute de goût" (fashion
faux-pas) for quartz movement. The quartz era almost terminated
the finest timepiece makers in Switzerland. Some disappeared but were
very often bought by other watch companies.

gambled with the concept of creating watches of comparable standards to other more

in beautifully crafted packaging, Invicta generated tremendous attention and
