A symphony of time and
technology has inspired a new era in complicated timepieces. With the push of a
button, the Minute Repeater chimes the hour, quarter hour and minute.
Never before has so much complexity been captured in an Eco-Drive timepiece.
Originally developed in 1845 as a method of telling time in the dark, the
repeater function was an intricate mechanical marvel. In 1845, the Minute
Repeater came to light. Now light comes to the Minute Repeater…
It's simple to tell time
from the repeater chime function: Just press and hold the button at the 10
o'clock position until it starts to chime. You will hear one long tone for
each hour, then each quarter hour past the full hour will be signified by a
quick double chime, then each minute will be signified by single short tones.
For example if the time is 2:48, you will hear two long chimes for the hour,
then 3 quick double chimes to indicate that 3/4 of an hour have elapsed,
bringing the time to 2:45, then 3 quick chimes to signify that 3 minutes have
past since the last quarter hour, giving 48 minutes after 2. (Note that the
repeater chime indicates the time in 12 hour format, with no am or pm
indication).
Eco-Drive Technology allows
the watch to charge outdoors or in artificial light so you never have to
change a battery!
When fully charged it will
run for 270 Days without additional exposure to light. (270 Day Power Reserve)
