The company has also have been known under the name
L.U.C. standing for Louis-Ulysse Chopard, the founder.
In 1860 Louis-Ulysse Chopard first founded his own
watchmaking company in the small farming village of Sonvilier, near to
La Chaux-de-Fonds.
Since then, the name of Chopard has earned an
outstanding reputation for gold pocket watches, from extra flat to
highly complicated. In the company's history of more than 130 years much
has happened which is worth resurrecting. Chopard is definitively more
than "just" a Haute Couture jeweler. Chopard watches collection " Mille Miglia" and "
Happy Diamonds " are their most famous designs. The new Mille
Miglia Jacky Ickx created in honor of the famous Belgian racing driver
champion.
