BREITLING

Breitling is a brand of Swiss watches from La Chaux-de-Fonds. The watchmaker offers certified chronographs designed primarily for aviation use, though most frequently worn as high-end luxury watches.

In 1884, Léon Breitling opens a workshop specialized in producing chronographs and precision counters for the automobile industry. The Breitling S.A. company was created in 1892. Breitling became official supplier of the RAF in 1936. The Navitimer, is created in 1952, it is a ''navigation computer'' wrist watch. The Breitling watch becomes the pilot's favorite around the globe.

Instruments for Professionals. More than a slogan, it's a vocation. Breitling's obsession is quality and performance. Day after day, this watch manufacturer consistently enhance the sturdiness and functionality of their chronographs. Their chronograph watches are always tested by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute. Breitling has not become an aviation supplier by chance. All Breitling watches are manufactured in Switzerland and are made from Swiss components. Raw movements are obtained from ETA and Valjoux and are modified in the Breitling Chronometrie Workshops (former Kelek S.A.) before undergoing COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres) certification.

The Breitling Emergency version contains a highly protected and powerful radio transmitter. This broadcasts on the 121.5 MHz distress frequency and serves as a back-up for ELT-type airborne beacons. For military users, Breitling has equipped the Emergency with a transmitter operating on the 243 MHz military frequency.
